Three main streams running off of Clausland Mountain are what start The Sparkill Creek. This land is protected by The Town of Orangetown, The County of Rockland and The State of New York. The land where it ends is protected by The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and The National Estuarine Research Reserve System.
